1. Summary
2. Where AI is used
- AI assist in the post composer: suggests caption wording, hooks, hashtags or tone variations for the platforms you selected.
Other features that may look “smart” are not AI: the best-times-to-post suggestions use published typical audience activity, the caption hook meter is a local rule-based check, and the queue and scheduling are deterministic.
3. What is sent, to whom
| Sent to the AI provider | Not sent |
|---|---|
| The text you typed or pasted in the composer for AI assist, the platform names you selected, and the tone or instruction you chose. | Your photos and videos, platform tokens, passwords, analytics, other posts, team members’ details, or anything from outside the composer text. |
The provider is Google (Gemini API). Requests are sent from our server, not your browser, over an encrypted connection, and are not linked to your name. Google processes them under its Gemini API terms; depending on the plan in use, those terms may allow Google to keep prompts for a limited period for abuse monitoring or service operation. See the Gemini API terms.
Please do not paste personal data, confidential information or secrets into AI assist.
4. What we store
We do not store the prompt or the suggestion. We keep only a usage counter (how many suggestions have been requested) so that we can enforce fair-use limits and show remaining usage. Suggestions appear in your editor; they are saved only if you save or schedule the post, in which case they are ordinary post content covered by our Privacy Policy.
5. Your responsibility for AI output
- AI can be wrong, biased, repetitive or accidentally similar to existing text. Check every suggestion for accuracy, tone and rights before publishing.
- You are responsible for anything you publish, including text an AI helped write, under our Terms and Acceptable Use Policy.
- Some platforms and laws require you to label AI-generated or altered media or to disclose AI assistance in certain contexts (for example political or realistic synthetic content). Postalu does not generate images or video, but if your media is AI-generated or altered, use the platform's labelling tools.
- Do not use AI assist to produce content that breaks our rules, including disinformation, impersonation or harassment.
6. Controls and changes
An administrator can disable AI assist for the whole installation by removing the AI key; users can simply not use the button. If we change the AI provider or begin using AI in a new way, we will update this notice and our sub-processor list on the Data Processing page first. Questions: privacy@postalu.com.
