Alerts sends a short message to a channel you set up. Each channel chooses its own events, so you can send failures to a team channel and the weekly report to your inbox.
1. The twelve events
| Group | Event | When it is sent |
|---|---|---|
| Publishing | A post failed to publish | A platform refuses or fails a post. Includes the plain-language reason and a link to the post. |
| Publishing | A scheduled post was missed or interrupted | The scheduler could not publish on time or a publish was cut off (see Missed posts). |
| Publishing | A platform's daily limit was reached | YouTube's daily quota or upload limit, or TikTok's posting limit. |
| Publishing | The scheduler hit an error | A problem inside Postalu's scheduler. |
| Publishing | A post was published | Once per post, when every platform has finished. Lists the live links. |
| Review | A post is waiting for approval | Someone sent a post to Approvals. |
| Review | A post was approved or sent back with changes | An approver decided. |
| Accounts and security | A login is expiring or has expired | Checked once a day for every connected account. |
| Accounts and security | A social account was connected or disconnected | Someone added or removed a channel. |
| Accounts and security | A team member was added, removed or had their access changed | Also when someone is disabled, enabled or has two-factor reset. |
| Accounts and security | Repeated failed sign-ins (a possible break-in attempt) | Three failed password or code attempts from one address within 15 minutes. |
| Reports | Weekly report (Mondays) | A short summary: posts published and failed, views, likes, comments, shares, strongest platform and top post. Sent on Mondays from 08:00 UTC. |
2. Delivery rules
- The same problem is sent once every 6 hours, so a repeating failure does not flood the channel.
- At most 30 messages an hour go out for a workspace.
- A failure to deliver an alert never affects the post or action that caused it.
- You can have up to 20 channels.
Set one up: Slack, Microsoft Teams or Email.
