1. Credits
Every post and reply uses prepaid credit in the X developer console, and a post with a link uses much more than plain text. When credit runs out X refuses the post and the post fails with X API credits are used up…. Add credit under Billing in the X console, then retry. Scheduling an X post uses its credit at the scheduled time, and the Review step warns you: X: this post uses X API credits at the scheduled time.
2. What you can post
- Text up to 280 characters (standard accounts). A link counts as 23 characters, and Postalu puts a blank line (2 characters) before it.
- Photos: up to 4 per post, JPG, PNG or WEBP. Video: one per post; over 2:20 needs X Premium (Postalu warns).
- Polls: the only platform for polls. 2 to 4 options of up to 25 characters; length 1 hour to 7 days. See Post types.
- First comment is posted as a reply, up to 280 characters, and also uses credit.
3. Duplicates and permissions
- X rejects text that matches a recent post: change a few words and retry (X rejected this as a duplicate of a recent post).
- If the X developer app is not allowed to write, set its permissions to Read and write in the X console and reconnect X. See X errors.
Postalu reads X post numbers only when you press Refresh (on a post, in History or Analytics), because X charges for each read.
