Disconnect a channel

How to disconnect an account, what is kept, and what it does and does not do to your bill.

Who can use this: People with the connect permission for that platform. You must also enter your password and a 2FA code.

  1. On the Dashboard open the channel's ⋮ menu and choose Disconnect channel (or open Settings and go to Security & Connections).
  2. In Manage for that account, enter your current password and your 6-digit code from the authenticator app.
  3. Press Disconnect. If you have several accounts on the platform, only the one you picked is disconnected.

1. What happens

  • Postalu stops using that account at once, and its login tokens, profile picture link and brand voice are deleted. The account name and ID stay as a label so earlier posts still show which account they went to. It no longer counts toward your account limit.
  • Existing posts and their numbers stay in History.
  • Posts that are still scheduled for that account will fail when they are due, because there is no connected account. Cancel or edit them first (see Reschedule, publish now or cancel).
  • If it was your last YouTube or TikTok account, the settings Postalu remembered for that platform are cleared.
  • An alert A social account was connected or disconnected is sent to channels that asked for it, and the action appears in the audit log.

2. What it does to your bill

Disconnecting an account does not lower your subscription. You pay for the number of accounts you chose on Plan & billing, whether or not they are connected. To pay for fewer, change the number there. See What disconnecting does to billing.

On the free plan, disconnecting frees a slot, so you can connect a different account (the limit is 2).
